Last Minute Halloween Decor - Mummy Jars with String Lights

Halloween Jar tea lightsSo Halloween is only a few days away, and you still don’t have any decorations to impress the trick-or-treaters this year. If you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive DIY decoration, these cute little mason jars will do just the trick! Set them out on your porch to light the way for trick-or-treaters, use them as a centerpiece for a Halloween themed dinner, or just use them to add a spooky flare to any ordinary room.

However you choose to use them, these adorable little jars will be sure to spook up any setting with their eerie glow without any stress on you or your wallet. Not to mention, they make for a great festive craft to put you and your kids in the Halloween spirit.

Mummy Jar

What you need:

  • A Jar
  • Gauze Wrap
  • Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • A Flameless Tea light

Step 1

Starting from the bottom, wrap the gauze around the jar, let it overlap as you go. Cover the entire jar and tie it off at the top. If you don’t want a knot at the top you can use adhesive to stick it directly onto the jar.

Step 2

Use glue to stick the googly eyes onto the front of the jar. Some googly eyes come with adhesive already on the back, but glue is recommended to make sure they stay in place.

Step 3

Stick your electric candle inside and watch the little guy glow!

Spider Jar

What you need:

  • A Jar
  • Fake Cobweb
  • Plastic Spiders
  • A Flameless Tea Light

Step 1

Turn the candle on and place it at the bottom of the jar.

Step 2

Take a handful of cobweb, fluff it out so it’s not too thick (otherwise it will mute the candlelight) and put it in the jar over the candle.

Step 3

Scatter the spiders along the outside of the web where they can be seen. Put the lid on the jar so they don’t escape, and you’re ready to go!
