Nature is a great place to find home decor inspiration. Next time you’re taking a walk, grab a few sheets of bark from a birch tree and you can make these beautiful candle wraps. You will also need a few feet of twine or cord (you can use leather cord, cotton cord, twine, hemp, whatever your preference). We strongly recommend using flameless candles here, as birch bark is incredibly flammable.
Cut your bark into strips. If you have multiple candles in a few different sizes, you could make the bark wraps different sizes. Wrap the bark tightly around the candle and secure with a bit of hot glue - make sure you don’t get glue on the candles, just attach the bark to itself. Next, wrap your cord of choice around the candle a few times in the center of the bark and tie tightly.
You may want to place the candles on a shelf or table as they are or put them in shallow wooden bowl. You can also fill the empty space in the bowl with walnuts. This just adds a nice touch if you’re going to use the candles as part of a centrepiece.
